Azamgarh, 15 November: The country is yet to recover from the shock of macabre murder of 26-year-old Shraddha Walker, whose body was cut into 35 pieces by her live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawala, a similar case has come to the fore in Azamgarh.
Similar modus operandi seems to be used in the brutal murder of the unidentified girl, whose headless body was found in a well located on Durvasa Dham Road in Azamgarh.
Sensation spread after the discovery of the body of a girl in several pieces in the well. The girl’s head was found missing during search. The police, who reached on the information of the shepherds, recovered the body and started legal action.
SP Anurag Arya reached the spot and gave necessary instructions regarding the investigation.
On Tuesday some boys had gone to graze their animals. They were sitting on the platform near the well when the bad smell attracted their attention. When they peeped into the well, they started screaming. The headless body of a girl was floating on water. Her hands and legs were floating apart.
When the Ahraula police came to know about it, a forensic team reached the spot. Forensic team and sniffer dog squad were engaged in the investigation, however, there is no clue to murder. The Superintendent of Police says that efforts are being made to identify the body.
The police are investigating whether any information about the disappearance of an unknown girl has been registered in any police station.
