Bijnor, 19 Oct: According to authorities, a police sub-inspector in this city has been suspended for reportedly conversing in an “undignified manner” with a woman complainant during an investigation into a rape and harassment complaint she filed against her in-laws.

Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said the woman produced an audio recording of Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Gautam allegedly interacting in a “undignified manner” with her on Wednesday.

The report was deemed to be valid after an investigation by a female sub-inspector, according to the SP. Gautam, a SI at the Haldaur Police Station, was later suspended, and the investigation was turned over to an internal cell, according to Jadaun.

According to the SP, the woman filed a rape and harassment charge against her in-laws on September 12. During the investigation of this case, the sub-inspector reportedly spoke to the woman in an unprofessional manner over the phone, which she had taped.
