Lucknow, 10 February: Inaugurating the three-day Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit (UP GIS-2023), which raised historic investment proposals of about ?32 lakh crore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that if India is a bright spot for the world today, UP is India’s bright spot.

Mentioning the contribution of Uttar Pradesh in developing India, the Prime Minister said that today the state (UP) in which the entrepreneurs and investors of the country and the world are sitting, has a population of around 25 crore. Uttar Pradesh alone has more potential than even the big countries of the world. On the one hand, there is the intention of a double-engine government and on the other hand, Uttar Pradesh is full of possibilities. There cannot be a better partnership than this. If India is a bright spot for the world today, then UP is taking a lead in driving India’s growth.

In the inaugural session of UP GIS-2023 at Valmiki Main Hall, Vrindavan Yojna, Lucknow, the venue of the program, PM Modi, while addressing the leading entrepreneurs-investors of the country and the world, invited everyone to invest in Uttar Pradesh. He said that the present government and bureaucracy of Uttar Pradesh have started walking on the path of progress with determination. The state is standing with you as a pioneer with full potential to make your (investors and entrepreneurs) dreams come true.

He further said, “We should not waste the time we have today. The prosperity of the world lies in the prosperity of India. The bright future of India is the guarantee of the bright future of the world.”

He said that the land of Uttar Pradesh is known for its cultural splendor, glorious history and rich heritage. Despite having so much potential, some things were associated with UP. People used to say that it is difficult to develop in UP. It is impossible to improve law and order here. Uttar Pradesh was called Bimaru State. Scams worth thousands of crores used to take place here.

In this context, he further said that everyone had given up their hopes of UP. But, within just five-six years, UP has established a new identity of its own and has established it on the heels of a string. Now UP is being recognized for good governance. Now UP is known for better law and order, peace and stability. Now new opportunities are being created for wealth creators.

Narendra Modi said that Uttar Pradesh’s initiative for modern infrastructure in the last few years is showing its results. There has been improvement in every field from electricity to connectivity. Very soon UP will also be known as the only state in the country which has five international airports. UP is directly connected to the sea through a dedicated freight corridor. Getting connected to the port of Gujarat and Maharashtra.

He said that very commendable work has been done on another subject in Uttar Pradesh. This work is related to education and skill development. Many such institutions like Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Health University, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University, and Major Dhyan Chand Sports University prepare youth for different skills.

The Prime Minister said that so far more than 16 lakh youth of UP have been trained in different skills under the Skill Development Mission. The UP government has also started courses related to artificial intelligence at PGI Lucknow and IIT Kanpur.
