Barabanki, 04 Sept: A three-storey structure collapsed at 4 a.m. on Monday in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki, killing two people and injuring several more. A search and rescue effort is ongoing to save several persons who are still buried beneath the rubble.
A three-storey house collapsed in Fatehpur town of Barabanki at around 4 am on Monday. At the time of the accident, about 12 people were sleeping in and around the house.
After the accident, police, SDRF and local people started the rescue in the presence of SP Dinesh Kumar Singh, CDO Ekta Singh, ADM Arun Kumar Singh. 12 people were sent to the district hospital, where doctors declared two dead, while eight were referred to Lucknow. Due to the possibility of three more people being trapped under the debris, an NDRF team has also been called.
Hashim’s three-storey house was built in Mohalla Kazipur Ward 2 in front of the Nagar Panchayat office in Fatehpur town, which completely collapsed at around in the morning.
As soon as information about the sudden accident was received, all the officers along with police and SDRF teams from several police stations reached the spot and the rescue operation was started.
After about two hours of hard work, the people buried under the debris were pulled out and sent to the district hospital. Among them, Hashim’s daughter Roshni (22) and Hakimuddin’s (25) son Islamuddin died. While Hashim’s wife Shakeela (55), daughter Zainab (10), Mehak (12), son Sameer (18), Salman (25), Sultan (28), Zafarul Hasan (35), son Islamuddin and his mother Umm Kulsoom (60) ) suffered serious injuries. Immediately all the injured were referred from the district hospital to Lucknow.
Among them is Islamuddin Hashim’s neighbor whose family was sleeping outside the house and got injured after being hit by debris during the building collapse. Two more people are still feared trapped under the debris. SP Barabanki Dinesh Singh has said that this accident happened at around 4:00 pm.
Rescue was started immediately after the incident. SDRF team has reached Lucknow. 12 people were sent to the district hospital, out of which two died, other seriously injured have been referred to the Trauma Center of Lucknow for better treatment.
Currently, information is being received that three people are trapped, the rescue operation is going on.
