Lucknow, 16 April: Despite all efforts made by the state government, the coronavirus infection across the Uttar Pradesh is not stopping. In the last 24 hours, 27,426 fresh cases of Covid-19 infection were registered across the state. During this, 103 people also died due to the infection.
State’s Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad told here on Friday that most people are still getting infected from the virus infection in the capital Lucknow. So far, 6598 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Lucknow in the last 24 hours which is the highest since the pandemic began, whereas 35 people have died here.
He told that after Lucknow, 2344 new infected have been found in Varanasi. 1758 new cases were registered in Prayagraj and 1403 in Kanpur. In the last 24 hours, 2, 23,307 swab tests were conducted across the state.
Currently 1, 50,676 active cases of corona in the state
ACS Health informed that while conducting a large number of testing across the state, the capacity of testing is also being increased continuously. A total of 3, 78, 14,182 samples have been investigated so far in the state. In this, 95,000 samples have been tested through RTPCR.
He informed that there have been 27,426 new cases of corona infection in the state in the last 24 hours, out of 1, 50,676 corona active cases in the state, 77,146 people are getting treatment in home isolation. 2,435 people in private hospitals and remaining patients are also undergoing treatment in government hospitals.
He informed that 6,429 people after getting cured at various hospitals have been discharged in the last 24 hours taking the total recovery to 6, 33,461.
Total dose of 1, 02, 96,675 vaccine has been administered so far
Prasad apprised that Covid vaccination is being done for those above 45 years of age in the state. So far 88, 09,638 people have been given the first shot of vaccine and out of those taking the first dose, 14,87,037 people have been given the second dose, thus, a total dose of 1,02,96,675 vaccines has been applied.
He told that those who belong to the young category should wait for their turn. It is an appeal to all the youths to cooperate in vaccination against Covid to the elders living in their surrounding areas. A population of 15,68,39,178 of 3,23,79,073 houses has been surveyed through 5,37,420 team days in 2,05,869 areas through surveillance teams in the state.
He informed that the event of Chief Minister Arogya Swasthya Mela is postponed till May 16, 2021.
Government appeals to people, must wear mask
Additional Chief Secretary Health said that cases are being seen more from many districts. It is very important to break the Covid chain in the state. It is an appeal to the public that they must wear masks, wash hands with sanitizer and soap.
He said that if they do not wear masks, then fine will be slapped. The penalty charges for violating in public places were earlier 500 rupees, now it has been revised to 1000 rupees. If caught in public places for the second time, a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed.
He said that people must use masks and also make people aware of the masks around them. He informed that the infection is not yet eradicated, hence special precautions are needed so after vaccination must also follow the Covid protocosl. Continue to wash your hands with soap and water. Avoid visiting crowded places. He said that the elders of the household should get vaccinated.
