Lucknow, 14 May: In Maharashtra, Delhi and other states of the country where the immunization drive is almost coming to a standstill, in Uttar Pradesh, the process of vaccination against the killer coronavirus disease is catching up every day.
A spokesperson of the government said that the next phase of vaccination in the age group of 18-44 is going to start in UP from Monday in which 23 more districts will be covered which was running in 18 districts till now.
According to the spokesperson, the Yogi government is strongly focused on maintaining the availability of the vaccines. It has issued a global tender in connection with the Covid vaccine. The government wants to maintain the availability of doses of 40 million medicines for the prevention of disease.
Significantly, Uttar Pradesh has become the number one state in the country in terms of vaccination due to the major decisions and continuous efforts taken by the Chief Minister Yogi.
So far, 1 crore, 14 lakh, 67 thousand 23 people above 45 years and in the age group of 18-44 have been given the first dose of vaccine and 31 lakh, 16 thousand 480 people have been given the second dose of vaccine. So far, 01 crore 45 lakh 83 thousand 503 Kovid vaccine administrators have been administered in UP. In 18 municipal corporations, 3, 15,532 people aged 18-44 have been vaccinated.
The spokesman said that the government has given an advance of Rs 20 crore to the vaccine manufacturers in order to keep the people of the state constantly getting the Corona vaccine. One crore vaccine has been imported in the state with this huge amount.
“Meanwhile, UP has left the other states far behind in procuring the doses of 50-50 lakh vaccines by sending the state plane. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also serious about vaccination of children. On their behalf, the pace of vaccination in rural areas is also being continuously increased,” added Spokesperson.
Government providing Covid vaccine-cover to illiterate, differently-abled and destitute also
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that special arrangements should be made for not a single citizen of the state to be deprived of Covid vaccine cover. Illiterate, differently abled, destitute or other needy people should be vaccinated. For this, the facility of registration of vaccination should be provided at the Common Service Centre.
He has said that while deciding the vaccine centre, keep in mind that there should be an open space for the waiting room at the site; Covid protocols can also be followed.
