Lucknow, 30 September: Paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, the Tourism Department will clean tourist places or other important places in every district under ‘Swachhata Ki Seva Fortnight’. Its preparations have been completed. Cleanliness campaign will be conducted in and around Paryatan Bhawan in Lucknow.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh will be participating in the cleanliness program in Firozabad.
To create clean cities and villages, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for collective labor for one hour from 10 am on Sunday, October 1. This will be a fitting tribute to Bapuji on the eve of his birth anniversary.
The Tourism Department of Uttar Pradesh will contribute to this cause by providing one-hour service across the state. Special emphasis will be given on cleaning tourist places and other important places like historical sites, heritage monuments and religious places.
Expressing enthusiasm for the initiative, Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada’ is an important step towards realizing our vision of a cleaner and more beautiful Uttar Pradesh. The department is committed to this. To promote the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of the State to create a sustainable environment for all citizens and tourists.
