Lucknow, March 17: Registration for wheat procurement has kicked off in Uttar Pradesh under the Minimum Support Price Scheme.

According to the schedule of the Food and Logistics Department, wheat will be procured from April 1 to June 15. For the year 2022-23, the government has fixed the MSP of wheat at Rs 2015 per quintal.

Departmental officials said on Thursday that it would be mandatory for every farmer to register on the Food Department’s portal https://fcs-up-gov-in/ for selling wheat at government procurement centers.

However, farmers who have registered for paddy procurement in Kharif Marketing Year 2021-22 will not need to re-register, just update their old details and lock them. The farmers will be paid the price of wheat in their bank account only, so only the active bank account should be given in the registration details.

According to officials, wheat will be procured at more than 6000 centers this year.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that farmers should not face any problem at any purchasing centre, be it storage godown or purchasing centre, adequate arrangements should be made for the security of wheat everywhere. In every case, farmers should get the benefit of MSP.

The Chief Minister gave clear instructions to the departmental officers that wheat should be procured at all the purchasing centers with complete transparency. It should be ensured that the farmer does not face any inconvenience in selling his produce. Farmers’ produce should be paid in a time bound manner.
