Delhi/Kathmandu, 04 Nov: The death toll in the 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on Friday midnight, has gone up to 154.
The number of casualties may increase as debris of the damaged houses is being cleared. Nepal’s Jajarkot district was hit by the earthquake at 11.47 pm causing heavy damage to properties and taking a heavy toll on human lives.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced all possible help to Nepal and has expressed grief over the tragedy.
So far 92 dead bodies in Jajarkot and 62 in Rukum West districts have been brought out of the rubble. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachand has reached the quake-affected region along with the Nepal Army?s medical team. The injured are being shifted to Surkhet and Nepalganj hospitals by helicopters.
