UP’s credential as data centre hub gaining traction: Yogi

Prayagraj, 12 Dec: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the state is quickly emerging as a data centre hub in the country, adding that the state received investment proposals totalling ?40 lakh crore, including several proposals for the development of semiconductor manufacturing units and electronics manufacturing during the UPGIS 2023.

Addressing the convocation event of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), which was also attended by President Droupadi Murmu and Governor Anandiben Patel, the Chief Minister encouraged young people to consider pursuing jobs in this growing field.

“India is quickly emerging as a major global economy,” he remarked, and added, ?Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that India would have a $5 trillion GDP by 2027. In keeping with this ambition, Uttar Pradesh is on its way to become a trillion-dollar economy.”

He remarked that with technology and digitalization, attaining the aims of “Ease of Doing Business” and “Ease of Living” has gotten much simpler. The essence of religion is not limited to the worship of deities. According to the CM, Indian saints see executing one’s tasks and remaining mindful of ethical ideals as sacred obligations.

CM Yogi emphasised the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI), saying that the technology may also be utilised to construct digital hospitals, which will be extremely beneficial to those living in rural and isolated places.

The occasion also included the awarding of degrees to 315 students. Degrees were conferred on 65 B.Tech Information Technology students from the 2018 class. In addition, 147 students from the 2019 cohort of the B.Tech Information Technology and Computer Science programmes graduated.

Furthermore, degrees were awarded to 23 students from the Computer Science program’s 2020 batch, as well as 27 students from the M Tech Computer Science 2021 cohort, 22 students from the MBA Digital Business 2020 batch, and 20 students from the 2021 batch.

Furthermore, two students from the PG Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning were conferred degrees for the years 2020 and 2021. Three PG Diploma in Data Science students and six PG Diploma in Business Studies students received their degrees for the 2020 and 2021 academic years.
