Washington, 08 Aug: A delegation of American parliamentarians will participate in the Indian Independence Day programme on August 15 in Delhi. The delegation will listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation from the Red Fort.
The delegation led by Indian American Ro Khanna and Michael Waltz under the Congressional Caucus of India and Indian Americans will attend the Independence Day programme.
The delegation members will also visit Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi and hold discussions with traders, technicians, government and people connected with Bollywood. They will also pay a visit to Rajghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.
The visit is special for Ro Khanna, whose grandfather was associated with Mahatma Gandhi and was a freedom fighter. He is visiting India for the first time.
Besides Khanna and Walttz, parliamentarians Deborah Ross, Kat Cammack, Shri Thanedar, Jasmine Cockett, Rich McCormick and Ed Case are the members of the delegation.
