Lucknow, 02 May: Padma Shri Haji Kalimullah Khan, popularly known as Mango Man, informed today that new variety of world famous Dussehari mango has been developed as ‘Doctor Mango’ and ‘Police Mango’ in the name of frontline warriors who are saving the lives of thousands of people infected with deadly novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) declared as global pandemic by the WHO.
Kalimullah told a conversation that he already had a desire to create a new variety of mango. When witnessed doctors, nurses and Para-medical staffs and police personnel are at war like situation against highly contagious pathogen then he decided to name the new variety of mango as ‘Doctor Mango’ and ‘Police Mango’.
This time, mangoes have grown well and are in ripening process. Juicy and tasty mangoes will be eaten after lockdown gets over.
He said that farmers are getting the support of the state government in times of corona crisis. If the weather does not affect the mango crop, then the best mango will reach all the people timely.
