Uttar Pradesh: Number of +ve cases of COVID-19 increased due to Tablighi Jamaat – Keshav Prasad Maurya

Lucknow, April 09: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the main reason behind the spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases across the state and the country is due to the followers of Tablighi Jamaat who joined the Nizamuddin Markaz of Delhi. Because of this group, today the country and the people are going through a tough time.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that a large section of the society is afraid of this infection-courtesy- Tablighi community.

Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of people infected with COVID-19 belong to of Jamaatis group among the total infected individuals. Not only this, information is being constantly received regarding their unruly behaviours with our frontline warriors like police, doctors, nurses and para-medical staff. This is a matter of great concern,โ€ said Maurya.

 He clarified that the reason behind the complete lockdown in the 15 districts was the increasing number of patients.

โ€œNot only this, every member of each household is being tested from identified hotspots in all these districts. Also every house of sealed areas is being sanitized. There is no need to get panic, the state government is working with full vigour. The government will not allow any kind of problem to any person. We are offering home delivery service of essential commodities like ration, vegetables and medicines to every household of sealed areas so that residents of these areas do not suffer,โ€ added Maurya.  

Keshav Prasad Maurya informed that one thousand rupees have been deposited in the accounts of labourers.

Not only this, members of unprivileged families who have โ€˜Jan Dhanโ€™ account; the work has been started by the central government to deposit five hundred rupees directly into their account during corona crisis.

Maurya has called upon the common people to provide grants and financial support to the Prime Minister’s Care Fund and Uttar Pradesh COVID-19 Care Fund as much as possible.
