Uttar Pradesh: Record testing of 10,398 corona samples in a single day

Lucknow, April 11: In order to effectively curb the coronavirus infection in the state, the Yogi government has started a war-level testing of blood samples of suspects of COVID-19 through various laboratories.

Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi said on Saturday that 10,398 corona samples were tested in various laboratories in the state on Friday. Earlier, on such a large scale testing was not done in a day. Thus, this is the record for the testing of coronavirus infection. He said that 9950 reports have come negative in it.

In this way, the target of doubling the test is being achieved. Initially, only 150 to 200 samples were being tested every day. In view of this, efforts were constantly made to increase the number of laboratories and testing kits. Several laboratories have received permission from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in the state to test corona samples, informed Awasthi.  

These laboratories include 50 for Prayagraj Medical College, 50 for SN Medical College Agra, 50 for Super Specialty Hospital, Noida, 125 for Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow and 200 Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) Bareilly  have been received permission from ICMR, told ACS, Home.

Additional Chief Secretary said that according to the data of the Home Department, 45,483 people have been named in 14,342 First Information Reports (FIRs) for the violation of lockdown orders under Section 188 of IPC. 35,569 people have also been arrested.

โ€œStrict enforcement of lockdown has also been followed. About 20,000 vehicles have been seized in the state so far. Challan of more than Rs 6 crores has been deposited. As per the action taken under Essential Commodities Act (EC Act), 367 FIRs have been registered,โ€ apprised Awasthi. ย 

 ACS, Home said that action has been taken against 463 people for hoarding and black marketing. 5,387 barriers have been established in the state.

He informed that a total of 42,213 vehicles are being used for home delivery of fruits and vegetables in the state. Out of which delivery is being done with the help of 13,572 motorized mobile vans and 28,641 manual vehicles.

Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi said that on April 11, a total of 35 cases of fake news were reported. There are 10 cases of Facebook, 1 of tiktok, 22 of Twitter and 2 of WhatsApp. Cyber Cell of Uttar Pradesh Police will soon look at the matter and action will be taken against them.
