Lucknow, April 14: Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi apprised on Tuesday that Beijing-based Tik Tok company has blocked 12 out of 14 accounts circulating fake news on the recommendation of the state information department. Apart from this, 07 Facebook accounts, 02 Twitter accounts and 01 WhatsApp account have also been blocked.
After the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the lockdown till May 3 across the country, the Yogi government has started to enforce the second phase of lockdown more rigidly in the state.
At the same time, no false information should not be propagated among the public, UP Police are watching over such fake news. Most cases of fake news are related to social media. On this, such accounts will be blocked by the government.

He said that along with this, 17,585 FIRs have been lodged under Section-188 so far, 22,632 vehicles have been seized. A mitigation fee of 6.84 crore has been recovered during the checking.
