Lucknow, April 30: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has taken the matter seriously of participating of controversial company Pushpa Sales Pvt. Ltd. in a tender for supplying oxygen to Meerut Medical College.
Taking cognizance of this tender made by the State Construction Corporation, he immediately summoned the report and directed that the tender should be cancelled immediately. On his instruction, this tender was immediately scrapped.
Deputy Chief Minister Maurya has expressed strong displeasure in this case and directed to take action against the responsible officials of the construction corporation.
He has warned that if such a case comes to light in future, strict action will be taken against the officials concerned.
In fact, the UP State Construction Corporation had submitted a tender for the oxygen pipeline at Meerut Medical College. In the technical bid for this, the Tender Committee awarded Pushpa Sales Pvt. Ltd. found the most favourable.
However, in 2017, the same company had oxygen supply work at Gorakhpur Medical College. It is alleged that several children died due to disturbances in the oxygen supply. A case was then registered against the company. At the same time, a complaint was also made to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary about the latest development.
It said that according to Clause 13A of the Guidelines, the tender should not include any company against which an FIR or against whom the case is going on in court. It is alleged that UP Construction Corporation did not include this clause of CVC in the tender, so that the accused company can be benefited.
After catching up with the case, UP State Construction Corporation Managing Director (MD) UK Gehlot clarified that the company has passed the technical bid but it has not been given the tender yet. There are many complaints related to the company, which are being studied. Many flaws have been found. The tender will be cancelled as soon as the information is confirmed to be included in the tender.
At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya expressed his displeasure and immediately asked the officials concerned to take action. Along with this, this tender has been immediately terminated on his instructions.
Earlier, the tender of Pushpa Sales Pvt. Ltd. for laying oxygen pipeline in Mother and Child State Referral Hospital of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute in Lucknow, selected as Covid-19 Level-3 hospital, has been cancelled.
According to the institute’s director AK Tripathi, the company had hidden much information to join the tender. The company was not awarded the tender. It was found successful only in technical bids. Now it has been decided to bid a tender again but the accused company is not in the list now.
