Lucknow, 10 October: The electricity crisis has deepened in the entire state. The state was getting 2.5000 MW banking electricity till September, but now that too has ended. 3054 MW electricity is shut down due to shutdown of many machines of industrial and private houses.

The situation is that at present the peak demand is 23500 MW, while the availability is around 20000 MW. Due to this, consumers from village to city are facing power cuts.

To deal with this lack of electricity availability, there is a power cut of about five hours in the villages in the entire state, while in the Nagar Panchayat and Tehsil areas there is a power cut of three hours. The Consumer Council has demanded from the Power Corporation to immediately stop the power disruption due to the maintenance work being carried out in the month of October, because at present, even after large-scale power cuts, shutdowns have to be taken due to power repair work. Due to this, there are cuts of up to 12 hours at times.

State Electricity Consumer Council Chairman Awadhesh Kumar Verma said that the biggest power crisis of this year is coming in the month of October in Uttar Pradesh. According to the roster, electricity should be available for 18 hours in rural areas. According to the daily system report data released on October 10, electricity was available only for 13 hours and 11 minutes. That means there has been power cut for about 5 hours.

Verma told, similarly, Nagar Panchayat should get electricity for 21 hours 30 minutes. Only 18 hours 6 minutes electricity has been received and the tehsil should get 21 hours 30 minutes electricity. He got electricity only for 18 hours 26 minutes.

Similarly, Bundelkhand, which should have got electricity for 20 hours, has got only 16 hours and 25 minutes of electricity. The electricity that the banking sector was getting till September was around 2500 to 3000 MW. It has stopped now, as it was supposed to meet only till September.

At the same time, 250 MW electricity is not being available from Sikkim due to floods and currently the peak demand is around 23500 MW.

Meahwhile, the availability of electricity in Uttar Pradesh is between 20000 to 20500 MW. In such a situation, there is a power cut of about 3000 thousand to 3500 MW.

Awadhesh Kumar Verma, member of the State Advisory Committee, who became the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Raj Electricity Consumer Council, said that the power units of the State Sector Generation Corporation of Uttar Pradesh are producing about 4225 MW, which is in very good condition. At the same time, due to closure of other units, a sudden power crisis has arisen. The weather has increased in heat. Due to this, the demand for electricity will increase further in the coming time.
