Dehradun, 14 September: Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand is continuously making new records. Almost 5 months have passed since the Chardham Yatra started. In these five months, more than 40 lakh devotees have visited Chardham.

Badri-Kedar Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay said on Thursday that the doors of Char Dham had opened for Char Dham Yatra in the last week of April and till now 40 lakh devotees have visited Char Dham. If compared with previous years, this time also there have been more pilgrims and devotees in the monsoon season and as the monsoon season seems to be weakening, the number of pilgrimages to Chardham has started increasing.

The State Government is making continuous efforts to ensure that the journey of the pilgrims who have reached the Dhams at the level of Badri Kedar Committee becomes smooth and simple. This year’s closing date is approximately in the month of November. In this manner, the date of opening of doors is more than last year and the figure this time will set a new record.

He said that there has been a lot of rain this year, but there has been no decrease in the enthusiasm of pilgrims and devotees.
