Varanasi, 07 February: The monitoring petition filed in the court of Varanasi District Judge Sanjeev Pandey against top Congress leader MP and Leader of Opposition ( LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has been accepted.
In this case, the court has fixed the date of next hearing as February 25. The plaintiff, former Pradhan of Tilmapur Nageshwar Mishra had filed an application against Rahul Gandhi in the case of inflammatory statement given about Sikhs in America.
In the ACJM court, the plaintiff had told through the petition that Rahul Gandhi had said during his US tour that there is an atmosphere of insecurity among Sikhs in India. Sikhs do not have the right to wear turban and kada. Nor are they allowed to go to Gurudwaras. This statement of Rahul Gandhi was supported by Khalistani terrorist Pannu.
The plaintiff alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s statement is likely to promote terrorist activities in the country. The ACJM court rejected this petition after hearing it. After this, the plaintiff’s lawyer filed a monitoring petition in the District Judge’s court against this order of the court.
The lawyer told through the petition that the lower court has rejected the petition after a cursory hearing. The order was not given as per the law. There is also documentary evidence in this case.
The court accepted the petition and fixed the date of hearing on February 25. At the same time, notice has also been issued to MP Rahul Gandhi and the state government to present their side before the court.
