Prayagraj, October 22: The next hearing of the revision petition filed against the district court’s order rejecting the demand for conducting a scientific survey of the Wazukhana situated in Gyanvapi campus, Varanasi, will be held on November 8.

Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal of Allahabad High Court is hearing the petition of Hindu party Rakhi Singh. The court had earlier asked the petitioner to file the ASI report of the Gyanvapi premises. The counsel presented the ASI report before the court. He said that a survey is necessary to determine the religious character of Wazukhana.

The High Court asked that when the Supreme Court has stopped the survey of ‘Shivalingam’, how can the survey be ordered? Responding to this, the advocate said that the Supreme Court has ordered to maintain the status quo while ordering the protection of Shivalingam.

Showing the orders of the Supreme Court dated May 17, to May 20 and November 11, the advocate said that the premises have not been sealed. Senior Advocate SFA Naqvi of the mosque side said that the Supreme Court has secured and protected the area. In this case, the survey cannot be done. His lawyer asked for time to clarify the situation. The date of the next hearing has been set for November 8.
