Prayagraj, 9 July: A terrorist Waliullah Khan convicted in the multiple bomb blasts in holy city Varanasi claiming at least 20 lives has filed an appeal against this capital punishment in the Allahabad High Court.

Terrorist Waliullah has filed an appeal against the sentence in the High Court through the Ghaziabad Jail Administration. An attempt has been made to prove his innocence by filing an appeal and the death sentence has been called wrong.

The appeal against the punishment of the terrorist is expected to be heard next week.

Waliullah is currently being held in seclusion at Dasna Jail in Ghaziabad. He is originally from the Phulpur area of โ€‹โ€‹Prayagraj. No family member has reached out to meet Waliullah after the trial court sentenced him to death.

This is the reason why Waliullah has filed a criminal appeal against the death sentence in the High Court through the jail administration of Ghaziabad.

It is noteworthy that in the Varanasi serial blasts case, the court had convicted Waliullah while delivering the verdict. There were serial bomb blasts in Varanasi on March 7, 2006.

The court held Waliullah guilty in the case of the blast in Sankatmochan temple in Varanasi and the recovery of the bomb on Dashashwamedh Marg.
