Waqf Bill to be presented in Lok Sabha on April 2

New Delhi, April 1: The Central Government will present the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The Business Advisory Committee has set a time of 8 hours for this. The bill will be presented immediately after the Question Hour tomorrow.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju told after the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of Lok Sabha on Tuesday that the government will present the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha on April 2. 8 hours have been set for discussion on this. At the same time, the Speaker has assured that this time can be extended if the House agrees.

Taking a dig at the opposition opposing the bill, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that the discussion will continue even if they walk out of the House making an excuse. The bill has been brought after extensive deliberations in the Joint Parliamentary Committee. The government wants everyone to participate in the discussion. People want political parties to give their opinion on the bill. The debate is going to be historic.
