Weather alert: Met predicts heavy rain and thunderstorm with strong winds in 46 dists of UP

Lucknow, 12 September: The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of extremely heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Meteorologists have predicted heavy rain in 46 districts of the state. While instructions have been issued to farmers and villagers working in the fields to be cautious due to lightning with thunder in 70 districts.

In the warning issued by the Lucknow Meteorological Department regarding the sudden change in the weather, an alert of heavy rain has been announced in western and central UP today. Along with this, winds will also blow at a high speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. Meteorologists said that this heavy rain will continue for the next two to three days. This will also affect the life of the people.

Warning of heavy rain in the month of September

According to the data of the Meteorological Department, this time the monsoon season has seen 14 percent less rainfall. In this, from June 1 to September 11, 571 mm of rain has been recorded as compared to the estimated rainfall of 665. In this regard, if the conditions of rain remain the same in the state for the next two days, then the figure of monsoon rain may decrease. But sudden continuous rain can affect the life of the people.

Eight districts of the state affected by floods

Due to continuous rain for two days, the risk of floods has increased in many places in UP. Due to rain in the mountains and locally in many parts of the state, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Ballia, Lakhimpur Kheri, Barabanki, Mau, Sitapur and Deoria districts have once again come into red alert mode and have been affected by floods. Here the district administration has become alert and people living near the river banks and in low-lying areas have been instructed to go to safe places. On the other hand, administrative officers are camping in their respective areas to deal with every situation along with relief and rescue work. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in these districts.

The districts in which heavy rainfall is expected today by the Meteorological Department include Farrukhabad, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and surrounding areas. Along with this, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Kannauj, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Amroha, Pilibhit, Sambhal, Badaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Banda, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Barabanki, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Auraiya and surrounding areas.

Chance of thunder and lightning

Delhi, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand. The weather department has warned of the possibility of thunder and lightning along with rain in Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas.
