Kanpur , March 17: The Meteorological Department has forecast that the sky will be light to moderately cloudy in the next five days but there is no possibility of rain, said Dr S.N. Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur on Sunday.Â
He said that on Sunday the maximum temperature was recorded at 29 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 9.6 degrees Celsius.Â
Talking about relative humidity, the maximum was 83 percent and the minimum was 32 percent. The average wind speed was 2.0 kilometers per hour and the wind was north-east. Weather system across the country: Meteorologist said that a trough is passing from South Odisha to Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim through Jharkhand and South West Bengal. A trough is extending from Marathwada through interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to Comorin area.Â
He stated there is a trough running north of 24 degrees north latitude from about 93 degrees east longitude at about 3.1 km above sea level in westerly winds. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from March 18. Another western disturbance may approach close to the western Himalayan region from the night of 20 March. Probable weather activity during the next 24 hoursÂ
Pandey said that during the next 24 hours, there may be light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds over Gangetic West Bengal between 17 to 20 March and on 17 March There is also a possibility of hailstorm. Light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds (30 to 40 kmph) may occur over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh between March 17 and 21. Hail is possible in Vidarbha during March 17 and 18 and in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh between March 17 and 19. He said that there may be heavy rainfall in Odisha and Chhattisgarh on March 19.Â
He told that light rainfall may occur over Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh between March 17 and 21. Kerala may receive light rainfall between March 17 and 18. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in Northeast India between March 17 and 22.
