Kanpur, 9 December: The effect of increasing activity of western disturbance is being visible on the mountains however, light rain likely to occur in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, rain has also started in West Uttar Pradesh. This rain will drop the mercury further and increase the cold.
The Meteorological Department told that about 30 districts of Uttar Pradesh are connected to the Terai region of Ganga so there is a possibility of light rain there.
Dr S. N. Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technology University, said on Monday that dry weather has been continuing in the northern hills for some time. Dry and cold winds are blowing in the slopes and plains of North India. The night temperature has been falling for the last two days. A western disturbance has become active on the hills of Jammu and Kashmir on the evening of December 8 resulting in there is a possibility of light rain in about 30 districts in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh on the night of December 8 and 9. Rain has already started in some districts of western Uttar Pradesh.
Pandey told that rain will not be heavy but will end the dry weather that has been continuing for a long time. There will be only movement of clouds in Kanpur. Whatever be the intensity and spread of the rain, this period of rain will definitely bring a change in the current weather. At the same time, light rain will increase the effect of cold and will indicate the beginning of intense winter season.
