Kanpur, 03 December: Along with the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, the wind directions changed, due to which the temperature at night increased and remained above normal.
At the same time, the Meteorological Department apprised that based on the way the weather systems are developing, there is a possibility of light rain with strong winds locally across Uttar Pradesh for the next three days.
Dr SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology, said on Sunday that the deep depression over the south-west Bay of Bengal has moved in the north-west direction at a speed of five km per hour during the last six hours. Today at 5:30 am it was near latitude 11.4 North and longitude 82.5 East.
He stated that about 300 km east southeast of Puducherry, 310 km southeast of Chennai, 440 km southeast of Nellore, 550 km southeast of Bapatla and 550 km southeast of Machilipatnam. It may continue to move north-northwestwards and intensify further and reach south Andhra Pradesh and adjoining north Tamil Nadu coast around the afternoon of December 4.
It is then expected to move nearly parallel to and near the Andhra Pradesh coast and cross the coast between Nellore and Machilipatnam as a cyclone during the afternoon of December 5. Maximum sustained wind speed ranging from 80-90 kmph to 100 kmph.
A cyclonic circulation is over southern Haryana and surrounding areas. Another cyclonic circulation is over the Northeast Arabian Sea. A trough is extending from the cyclonic circulation over the northeast Arabian Sea to northeast Madhya Pradesh.
Its impact will also be felt in Uttar Pradesh and there will be light rain with strong winds at the local level.
He told that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 28.4 and the minimum temperature was 14.0 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 96 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 50 percent. The direction of the winds was north-east with an average speed of 1.5 km per hour.
According to the weather forecast, Kanpur will have light to moderate clouds in the next five days. Along with this, there is a possibility
of strong winds and light rainfall on December 4-5.
