Lucknow, August 11: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh issued new weekend lockdown guidelines that there will now be lockdown only on Sundays. In view of the controlled situation of corona infection, there will be no lockdown on Saturdays.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state’s Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Awasthi also issued a government order (GO) in this regard on Wednesday.
According to the issued GO, with the mandatory of masks, distance of two yards and use of sanitizer, all the restrictions have been removed from 6 am to 10 pm from Monday to Saturday.
In fact, Chief Minister Yogi, in his regular review meeting with Team-9 today, had given instructions to give relaxation in the two-day weekly closure. However, he has also said that the Covid protocol should still be followed in every case. There should not be unnecessary congestion anywhere. Police patrolling continued.
In today’s review meeting, the Chief Minister was apprised that effective control of the second wave of corona epidemic is in place in the state. On an average, more than 2.5 lakh tests are being done every day, while the positivity rate remains 0.01 and the recovery rate is 98.6 percent.
The Chief Minister was also informed that in the testing of 02 lakh 39 thousand 909 samples done in the last 24 hours, not a single new case of infection was found in 59 districts, while patients were found in unit digit in 16 districts. At present, the number of active Covid cases in the state is 505. It is time to exercise extra vigilance and caution. A little carelessness can lead to a big problem.
It is worth noting that when the second wave of coronavirus infection outbroke across the state was terrible, like other states, most of the activities were banned in UP. To prevent overcrowding in public places, three days weekly lockdown was imposed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a phase wise manner.
Later, when the effect of Corona subsided, the government reduced the weekly lockdown to two days. Now that the corona seems to be completely under control in the state, the state government has decided to end Saturday’s lockdown as well.
