Kanpur, 30 December: Dr S.N. Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, has predicted dense fog till the New Year’s Eve on Saturday.
He said that for the last few days, most of the states of North India are in the grip of dense fog and visibility has reduced including the Kanpur region. Chances of fog have been forecasted in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, South-East Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh including Kanpur, West Bihar and North-West Rajasthan.
Meteorologists apprised the weather could impact some airports, highways and railway routes in areas of the subdivision, so difficult driving conditions will persist that will effect slow travel times.
He has appealed that due to fog, drivers should proceed with caution while driving their vehicles, so that it will be easier to avoid any accident and the speed will have to be strictly controlled. Although there will be some delay in the journey, the driver, passengers and vehicle will be safe.
