Varanasi, 22 Sept: PM Narendra Modi will attend a public assembly specifically for women at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University premises in Varanasi on Saturday, after launching the historical ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’.
District administration and police officials, as well as BJP cadres, went into action as soon as the meeting was added to Modi’s planned visit.
“As per the initial itinerary, the PM was scheduled to address a public meeting after laying the foundation of the international cricket stadium,” Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma said. Another event was added to the PM’s 7-hour visit on Thursday, in which he would address women exclusively at the SSU grounds.”
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend an all-women rally in Varanasi in the aftermath of Parliament’s passage of the women’s reservation law. “Only the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present on the dais at this special meeting,” district authorities said.
The Prime Minister will then go to his constituency’s Rudraksh center, where he will give awards to the winners of the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsava and engage with kids from the Atal residential schools, which he will dedicate to the country.
The inclusion of a public gathering for women in Modi’s intended visit surprised BJP leaders, who summoned a meeting at the Gulab Bagh office on Thursday to discuss preparations.
BJP women’s wing Kashi region chairperson Namrata Chaurasia said they had planned to bring a large number of women to Ganjari to offer appreciation to the Prime Minister for the women’s reservation law.
The district administration and police officials were also kept busy all day with security arrangements, rehearsals of the PM’s chopper arrival at Ganjari, and preparations at other locations.
The arrival of extra personnel from neighboring districts has begun, according to Varanasi police commissioner Ashok Mutha Jain, and they will be briefed on Friday before being deployed.
BJP leaders arrived in Ganjari to inspect preparations for the public meeting, led by Kashi region unit chief Dilip Singh Patel.
They congratulated around 25 gram pradhans from the Sevapuri and Rohaniya assembly regions and invited them to the public gathering, along with a huge number of villagers.
