World Cup T20 champions meets Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi, July 04: The World Cup T20 winning Indian cricket team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. This meeting of the winning Indian players took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi heard the experiences of the world winning team. In the photo released on social media, Prime Minister Modi was seen holding the hands of team captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid instead of holding the trophy.

At the same time, BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Jai Shah also presented Prime Minister Modi with a ‘NaMo 1’ jersey in the colors of Team India.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared pictures of the conversation with the players on the social media platform X and posted, “A wonderful meeting with our champions. Hosted the World Cup winning team at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg and had a memorable conversation on their experiences during the tournament.”

After winning the T20 World Cup in Barbados, South Africa on June 29, Team India reached Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport this morning. After this, the players were given a warm welcome at IGI Airport, ITC Maurya Hotel and on the way to the hotel.

After meeting the Prime Minister, Team India left for Mumbai. There in the evening, the team will participate in the BCCI felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium.
