Bareilly, 24 November: A speeding car climbed over the under construction bridge in Allahpur village of Faridpur area after following Google navigation system that led to fall into the Ramganga river. Three people in the car died on the spot in the accident.

Police identified the bodies and sent them for postmortem and informed the family of the deceased about the incident.

A bridge is being constructed by Setu Nigam on the Ramganga river to connect Dataganj of Badaun district and Faridpur of Bareilly. A wall was built for safety at the Dataganj end of the bridge, but it had already been broken. Despite this, the administration did not make any arrangement to repair it or take any alternative safety measures.

On Sunday morning, a car went out of control and fell from an under-construction bridge after guided by GPS-based directions. The youths who died in the accident have been identified as brothers Kaushal, Vivek and their friend from Farrukhabad district.

Investigation has revealed that at the time of the incident, the deceased were returning from Ghaziabad and resorted to Google Maps to find the way. Google Maps directed them towards an incomplete bridge. The bridge was still under construction and despite being incomplete, warning boards or barricades were not installed there.

After getting information about the car falling into the Ramganga river and bleeding, locals immediately informed the police. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and the case is being investigated.
