Lucknow, 10 December: The Yogi government has taken a new initiative to change the standard of living of poor families. In this, a blueprint for changing the standard of living of the poorest families of 22 blocks of eight most backward and two backward districts of the state is being prepared.

Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) and Uttar Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Mission, its responsibility has been assigned to Uttar Pradesh Rural Development Department.

A list of the 10 poorest families of 1,740 gram panchayats of these blocks is being prepared under this government program. The help of various voluntary organizations is also being taken to bring prosperity in the lives of these poor people. In the second phase, preparations are on to implement it in the entire state.

Through this, the lives of about five lakh poorest families of the state will be prosperous and their standard of living will be better.

Additional Commissioner of Rural Development Department Yogesh Kumar sent a letter to the District Program Coordinator-District Magistrates of Chitrakoot, Sonbhadra, Balrampur, Chandauli, Shravasti, Fatehpur, Bahraich, Mahoba, Siddharthnagar and Hardoi for the poorest of the individual work under MNREGA and National Rural Livelihood Mission Have asked to send the list of families.

He has said that in selected blocks of these districts, work is being done by Voluntary Organizations (CSOs) under Cluster Facilitation Project (CFP).

The poorest families are to be selected for individual work under the MNREGA and Uttar Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Mission with the help of the CFP team working in each gram panchayats of selected 22 development blocks of these districts.

However, in the selection of these families, it should be kept in mind that the name of the woman as the head of the family should be entered in the list, if there is only a male head in a family, then the name of the male should be entered.

Poverty criteria should also be taken care of, which should have priority for those families. Approved individual works under MNREGA should be offered according to the resources, skills and will of the beneficiary family.

According to the Additional Commissioner, Rural Development, the poorest families whose job cards have not been made can also be selected under this. However, job cards of such families should be made on priority. More than one individual task may be given to a family.

However, the total cost of assets of all the individual works of a family can range from 1.25 lakh to two lakh rupees. The assets of the individual works will be constructed according to the model-estimate of the proposed MNREGA from the state level.
