Lucknow, 31 December: Under the strong leadership of Chief Minister Yogi, the Uttar Pradesh government is working on an ambitious scheme to make the state poverty free. The government aims to identify the extremely poor families of the state by October 2, 2025 and provide them the benefits of government schemes.
In this direction, the process of survey and verification has been started on a wide scale. This initiative is going on under the ‘Zero Poverty’ campaign, which is moving forward at a fast pace with the government’s commitment to make Uttar Pradesh a poverty free state.
Yogi government is identifying 15 lakh extremely poor families in the state
Yogi government is conducting a survey with the help of Panchayat Sahayak, Rozgar Sevak, BC Sakhi and Self Help Groups (SHG) to identify 15 lakh extremely poor families in the state. Among these families, priority is being given to the homeless, living in kutcha houses, landless and daily wage laborers. After the completion of the survey, the records of these families will be verified by the village level committees.
Digital platform and mop-up app are being used for survey and verification
Digital technology is being fully utilized in this ambitious scheme. Survey and verification work is being done through mop-up mobile app. In this, Aadhaar, bank account details, and beneficiary photograph of the concerned families are being uploaded. After the survey process, the members of the village level committee, including the village head, former head, school headmaster, self-help group president, Asha and Anganwadi workers will confirm the selected beneficiaries. The opinion of at least three out of five members will be required in the selection process. To make the selection process more transparent, all records will be made available on the mop-up app and zero poverty portal.
Improvement in quality of life is the main objective
The objective of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is that every poor family of Uttar Pradesh can improve their quality of life by getting the benefits of government schemes. Under this scheme, in the first phase, priority is being given to those families who have not yet got the benefit of government schemes. The Chief Minister has emphasized that the schemes should be implemented in a timely manner and their reach to the needy should be ensured.
Yogi government will also use CSR funds in poverty alleviation
Apart from government funds, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds will also be used in this scheme of the government. This step of the Yogi government reflects social responsibility as well as an inclusive approach to the creation of a developing state. Cooperation will be taken from various companies and organizations to raise the standard of living of the identified families.
Panchayat assistants posted in gram panchayats have been given an important role in this scheme
Panchayat assistants posted at the gram panchayat level have been given a special role in this scheme. As per the wishes of Chief Minister Yogi, Panchayat assistants, who are residents of their gram panchayat, are making a significant contribution in freeing their community from poverty through this scheme. He has also given instructions to resolve the problems of the Panchayat assistants and pay their pending honorarium soon. The list of selected poorest families will be displayed at the Gram Panchayat Secretariat and other public places. Along with this, this list will also be available on the Zero Poverty Portal.
Target of poverty free Uttar Pradesh by October 2, 2025
The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has set a target of making the state poverty free by October 2, 2025. Under this campaign, officers and employees working at the rural level have been instructed to ensure 100 percent success.
Panchayat Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said that the objective of this scheme of the government is to bring positive change in the lives of the poorest families of the state by giving them the benefits of government schemes.
