Yogi govt to fix accountability, transparency and quality in council schools

Lucknow, January 18: The Yogi government has prepared a comprehensive and concrete action plan of social audit to ensure transparency, accountability and quality in council schools of Uttar Pradesh.

Under this, a target has been set to complete the social audit of more than one lakh 33 thousand schools of the state in the next five years. Parents of children studying in the school, community and all stakeholders will be included in this work. Available resources and schemes and programs run by the government will be found out.

However, the preparation of the first phase is complete, in which 150 master trainers have been trained. Five excellent universities of the state have been selected to complete the social audit work by March 31 and this work is in progress with the aim of public hearing and submission of detailed report by April.

Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said that as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the Yogi government will play an important role in improving the standards of education in Uttar Pradesh and promoting transparency. The training plan and calendar has been prepared. The target is to complete the district and block level training in January 2025. To make the social audit fair and transparent, five major universities of the state have been entrusted with the responsibility.

Minister added that all the trainers of the social audit team, cluster social auditors and members of the social auditor facilitator team have been selected by experts from five major universities of the state. Experts from these universities include Prof. Anurag Dwivedi (DDU Gorakhpur University), Prof. Anoop Kumar Bhartiya (Lucknow University), Prof. H.M. Arif, Prof. (Dr.) Arina Nazneen (Integral University Lucknow), Prof. Anoj Raj (Subharti University, Meerut), and Dr. Ravi Kumar (MMMTU, Gorakhpur). Also know

Singh told that cluster Social Auditors have been given the responsibility of 10 schools each. The number of Cluster Social Auditors is 2,672, who will be trained by Master Trainers. The work of training 1,60,320 members of the Social Auditor Facilitator Team at the block level by these Cluster Social Auditors will be completed in January. The social audit of the selected 26,720 schools will be done by the Facilitator Team which will include parents, community and all stakeholders.

Director General (DG) of School Education Kanchan Verma said that the important point of social audit is that in this work, only cooperation will be provided by the department and all the work will be done by the selected universities, so that a fair and real picture can come out. With the efforts of the team of social auditors, social audit of 20 percent of the schools of the state will be completed by April. There is a plan to complete the work of social audit of all the council schools of the state in the next five years. This step will be very helpful in improving the quality of education in council schools and promoting transparency and accountability.
