Lucknow, 02 January: The Uttar Pradesh government has approved about Rs 21 crore for the overall tourism development of Rajapur town in Chitrakoot district, the birthplace of Shri Ramcharitmanas author Goswami Tulsidas. In this, Rs 4.50 crore has been sanctioned as the first installment.
State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh gave this information on Tuesday.
Jaiveer Singh said in a release that Shri Ramcharitmanas is our holy book, the faith of a large number of devotees is associated with it. The same reverence is also associated with Goswami Tulsidas, the author of Shri Ramcharitmanas. A large number of people go to visit his birthplace. Our effort is to develop the overall tourism of this place, so that the visiting tourists do not face any kind of inconvenience. There should be good arrangements for their travel as well as accommodation.
He said that this is the digital age, especially it is an important part of the daily routine of the young generation and children. Here arrangements have also been made to make people read Shri Ramcharitmanas and introduce them to the life of Tulsidas through digital medium.
He said that development works will be carried out in about two and a half acres near Tulsi Memorial in Rajapur. In this, beautification will be done on the side of the memorial. A park will be built, medicinal plants will be planted. Arrangements for swings etc. will be made for children to play. Dormitory will be built. Digital library and interpretation center will be built. Here people will be able to read Ramayana digitally and get acquainted with the life of Tulsidas. Apart from this, many other works including open theater and landscape will be carried out.
Minister Singh said that at present Uttar Pradesh is at first place in terms of domestic tourism. The tourism sector is developing rapidly here. Tourist facilities are being continuously developed. It is our endeavor that the tourists coming here return with a special experience.
