Due to heavy rains, potholes were formed near the manhole under Ram Path

On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department and Jal Nigam started the repair work

Potholes on Ram Path were filled in four hours, leakage near Imambara was also repaired in 6 hours

Ayodhya, June 26: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken serious cognizance of the news of water logging in Ramnagari and potholes on many other roads including Ram Path. He directed the concerned officials to make repair and drainage arrangements. In which the concerned departments got involved. The continuous rain in Ayodhya for two days has filled the streets of Ram Nagari. Big potholes have formed on Rampath and other roads, for which Nagar Nigam, Public Works Department and Jal Nigam have started repair work on war footing.

A total of 12.50 km new sewer line has been laid on Rampath in a total length of 13 km. In which 105 streets are connected. A total of 520 manholes have been constructed on this path. In which only 6 manholes of twenty feet deep got potholes due to water seepage due to heavy rain at night. Which was repaired in a span of just 4 hours and the road was made motorable. Settlement had occurred due to breakage of drinking water line in Imambara and due to the drain near the manhole. Which was made motorable by repairing the leakage and filling it with sand in a span of 6 hours. The problems have been resolved.

Zone wise team was formed and control room was made.

Municipal Commissioner Santosh Kumar Sharma said that in order to avoid any kind of problem in Ayodhya city, for quick solution of the problem of water logging as per the forecast of upcoming rains, the Municipal Corporation has formed zone wise teams. The metropolitan area has been divided into three zones, so that whenever required, a team can be sent immediately to repair water logging or potholes on the road. For this, Ayodhya Dham Zone, Kaushalpuri Zone and Awadhpuri Zone have been created. Apart from this, a control room has been established which will remain active 24 hours.

Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Dhruv Aggarwal said that information was received about the collapse of the road due to sewer line near Rikabganj and apart from this, information about the collapse of the road near the manhole of the sewer line at some scattered places was received.

Regarding the above, he has told that taking immediate cognizance at the said places, work has been done with granular material. Traffic is running smoothly, apart from the above, there is no information of road collapse anywhere on the entire Rampath. The said Ram Path has been constructed with full quality, better drainage and state-of-the-art technology. Due to which, even due to heavy rains, there has been no problem of road collapse and water logging at any other place on the approximately 13 km long Ram Path.
