New Delhi, August 21: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded action against online food delivery company Zomato and Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan.
The CAIT on Sunday demanded action on a Zomato advertisement accusing people of misleading and deceiving them.
Meanwhile, Zomato has apologized in this matter and removed the advertisement. Zomato said that we respect the people of Ujjain.
Actually, this Zomato advertisement which featured actor Hrithik Roshan receiving Mahakal Prasad Thali through online food delivery from Mahakal Jyotirlinga temple is clearly untrue, false, misleading and objectionable.
Business organization CAIT said that the Mahakal temple, which is the form of Lord Shiva, the center of faith of crores of people of the country, has been used for commercial purposes.
It is noteworthy that the Mahakal temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Free food is served to thousands of devotees every day at this temple, which is one of the traditions that have been going on for hundreds of years. Business leaders said that Zomato’s advertisement has attempted to capitalize on temple offerings for a selfish purpose, which cannot be accepted.
Therefore immediate action should be taken by the government and the concerned government agencies against actors Hrithik Roshan and Zomato.
The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
