
PM Modi arrives in Sweden, focus on trade and investment ties
New Delhi, May 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sweden from the Netherlands on Sunday, the third day of his six-day five-nation foreign tour. In Sweden, the Prime Minister stated that the purpose of his visit is to further strengthen trade, investment, innovation, and defense cooperation between India and Sweden.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on the social media platform X that he will meet Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. The two leaders will discuss giving a new direction to the India-Sweden friendship. He stated that special focus will be on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, investment, innovation, and defense.
In another message, the Prime Minister stated that he will also meet leading European industrialists and business leaders at the “European Business Roundtable” with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. He stated that this meeting will further strengthen investment ties between India and Europe.
The Prime Minister stated that this meeting will prove important in providing new opportunities for economic partnership between India and Europe. He expressed confidence that this visit will provide new impetus to relations between India and Sweden.
