Ayodhya, 19 August: The sixth edition of ‘Deepotsav’ will be held on October 23 in Ayodhya. This year, nearly 14.5 lakh diyas will be lit on the Ghats, setting a new record. Last year, 7.5 lakh diyas (earthen lamps) were lit at Ram Ki Paidi ghat on the banks of the Saryu River, setting a new record.
According to official sources, the scale of ‘Deepotsav’ is being expanded in anticipation of increased public participation this year. People had largely avoided participating in the event over the last two years due to the pandemic. Deepotsav was commenced in 2017 by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and has grown in size ever since.
