UP govt launches ODOC portal to showcase culinary heritage of All 75 districts
Noida, September 25: The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday launched a significant initiative to promote Uttar Pradesh’s rich culinary heritage to the nation and the world and to give global recognition to local tastes.
The official digital portal of ‘One District One Cuisine’ (ODOC), www.odoc-up.in, was launched. This portal will provide a common digital platform for the unique culinary traditions, local cuisines, food products, and related entrepreneurs of all 75 districts of the state.
The Uttar Pradesh Information Department stated in a press release issued on Friday that this platform, developed in line with the Yogi government’s vision of ‘local to global’, aims to connect Uttar Pradesh’s culinary diversity not only to cultural identity but also to tourism, entrepreneurship, employment, food processing, branding, and market expansion. This will help local food entrepreneurs, food vendors, food processing units, and exporters in the state access new markets.
The Yogi government’s ambitious One District, One Product initiative has played a significant role in gaining recognition for the state’s local products nationally and internationally. Building on this experience, efforts are now underway to provide systematic recognition and market access to the state’s traditional culinary heritage through ODOC.
Each region in Uttar Pradesh has its own distinct food traditions. The culinary diversity of Braj, Awadh, Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, Rohilkhand, and Western Uttar Pradesh reflects the state’s cultural richness. ODOC will digitally disseminate these local flavors to a wider audience.
The ODOC portal provides information on the unique culinary traditions and cuisines of various districts in the state. Citizens, as well as tourists, food lovers, buyers, and businesses from across the country and abroad, will be able to experience the traditional flavors of Uttar Pradesh’s diverse regions through this platform.
The portal features various sections such as District Cuisine, Stakeholder Directory, Schemes and Policies, Events, Gallery, Videos, Success Stories, Product Videos, and Product DSR. This provides an integrated digital platform for entrepreneurs and other stakeholders associated with ODOC. The
Uttar Pradesh government’s focus is on integrating the state’s traditional capabilities with modern market needs. In this regard, ODOC is focusing on branding, packaging, quality, value addition, and market expansion of traditional cuisine and food products.
Integrating culinary activities is expected to promote local food entrepreneurship and create new employment opportunities. Local cuisine can also become an important part of the state’s tourism experience for tourists.
Uttar Pradesh’s culinary heritage is deeply rooted in its history, culture, agriculture, local resources, and social traditions. ODOC is an effort to bring this heritage to the new generation and a global audience through a modern digital platform. The success stories, product-related videos, and information on various activities available on the portal can inspire local food entrepreneurs and prove useful to potential buyers and investors.
www.odoc-up.in has been developed as an integrated digital platform for Uttar Pradesh’s culinary heritage. The portal will provide a one-stop shop for ODOC-related information, activities, programs, success stories, and other resources.
This initiative by the Yogi government is an important step towards connecting Uttar Pradesh’s local flavors, traditional knowledge, and food entrepreneurship with the global market. After ODOP, ODOC is now an effort to brand the state’s products as well as their flavors.
