Rahul Gandhi faces fresh complaint over PM, HM remarks; hearing on June 16 in Rae Bareli
Raebareli, May 26: The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha and Member of Parliament (MP) Rahul Gandhi is again embroiled in judicial proceedings over his controversial remarks against the Prime Minister and Home Minister. A Muslim BJP leader has filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi in the Raebareli court. The court has admitted the complaint and has set the next hearing date for June 16.
Shakeel Ahmed Khan stated that Rahul Gandhi made objectionable comments against the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister out of vengeance, which has deeply hurt him and caused him defamation.
The petitioner alleged that Rahul Gandhi, by making comments from a public platform, has tarnished the image of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and the BJP in order to vitiate the atmosphere of the country. Shakeel Ahmed Khan stated that after no police action was taken against Rahul Gandhi, he approached the MP-MLA court. The court accepted the case and set June 16th for hearing.
It is noteworthy that on Monday, BJP leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan filed a defamation complaint in the court of Vinaysheel, the fifth additional civil judge (junior division) of the district court. He asked the court to order the registration of an FIR against Rahul Gandhi. The court has admitted the complaint.
