Seasonal rains to enter Gorakhpur by June 18, Lucknow by June 22, predicts weatherman

Lucknow, June 5: According to the Meteorological Department, after reaching Kerala, the monsoon will now enter Uttar Pradesh via Gorakhpur by June 18. After this, it is likely to reach Lucknow by June 22.

Despite thunderstorms and rain in many parts of Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours, there has been no significant change in the weather. In fact, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert on Friday for winds blowing at a speed of 70-80 km per hour for about 40 districts of the state. Light rain and thunderstorms are likely. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will enter Uttar Pradesh via Gorakhpur by June 18 and will reach Lucknow four days later, by June 22.

Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Department’s Lucknow center, said on Friday that due to the impact of the new disturbance, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and drizzle in many parts of Uttar Pradesh. However, there is no possibility of a major drop in temperature.

According to the Met officials, there may be rain with thunder and lightning in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Noida, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Agra of western Uttar Pradesh on Friday. A rain alert has been issued for western Uttar Pradesh. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.

The weatherman has issued an orange alert for thunderstorm in Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur. Similarly, there is a possibility of thunder and lightning in Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas.
