
CM Yogi plants camphor tree, establishes Maharishi Charak Medicinal forest in Lucknow
Lucknow, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam’ campaign by planting a camphor tree in Kukrail, where he also established the Maharishi Charak Medicinal Forest; Minister of State for Forests (Independent Charge) Dr Arun Saxena planted an Amla tree, while Minister of State for Forests KP Malik planted a Neem tree, marking the state’s collective commitment to environmental conservation.
Here, the Chief Minister also took selfies with school children and distributed sweets. Everyone congratulated the Chief Minister on his birthday.
Every person must plant a tree in the name of their mother
Chief Minister said on this occasion that PM Modi set the goal for the countrymen that as citizens, we have a responsibility towards our mother and motherland. That is why he dedicated the theme of the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign to mothers. Mother is dearest to every person. Therefore, in fulfilling their responsibilities, every person should plant a tree in her name and take this campaign forward. Develop forests in cities and villages. The Forest Department has cultivated over 500 million saplings. Today, this program is expanding with a target of planting 50 million trees.
The world is grappling with serious environmental concerns
Chief Minister said that the world is grappling with serious environmental concerns today. Everyone knows that the environmental challenge is not only for nature but also for living creatures. Due to changes in the weather cycle, we are all witnessing the adverse effects of excessive rainfall and drought. This disaster is man-made, and humans must find solutions to this problem.
Stay away from factors that harm the environment
Chief Minister said that if every citizen honestly fulfills their responsibilities and duties towards Mother Earth, we can protect her by conserving the environment. The most important effort for this is that every person should stay away from factors that harm the environment and participate in every possible effort to protect the environment.
Avoid single-use plastic at all.
The Chief Minister also mentioned simple measures to protect the environment. He said that creating a plastic-free environment means completely banning single-use plastic. Everyone can easily take action to prevent the harm caused by it. The Chief Minister appealed that no plastic waste should be thrown in any public place, water source, garden, forest, park, etc.
Conserve every drop of rain
Yogi also emphasized water conservation, saying that efforts should be made to conserve every drop of rainwater. Do not harm trees and plant a tree on every important occasion. Over 242 crore saplings were planted in the state in 9 years. Continuing this trend, the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” program is being launched today on World Environment Day.
CM urged school students to successfully carry forward this campaign, be vigilant for a plastic-free environment, alert parents, be part of a comprehensive campaign for water conservation, and join the tree plantation campaign.
