Massive fire rips through cold storage in Lucknow
The Himalayan Cold Storage is located on the Lucknow Ayodhya Highway in the Chinhat police station area on Sunday morning. It stores general store items, including turmeric and chili. Seeing fire and smoke in the cold storage this morning, guards informed owner Rahul Gupta and the fire brigade. Fifteen fire engines arrived at the scene and had to extinguish the fire. Since people’s homes and the Dayal Residency colony were far away, there were no reports of any casualties.
However, due to the intensity of the fire, people were evacuated as a safety precaution. The firefighting effort has been ongoing for several hours. Due to a water shortage, water is being collected from nearby hotels. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
