
Illegal arms factory busted in Sambhal, key accused held while accomplice remains at large
Sambhal, August 13: The Sambhal police arrested Iqrar, a resident of Hirapur under Asmoli police station, recovering two pistols of 315 bore, one pistol of 12 bore, 42 half‑made pistols, and a large cache of arms‑making equipment, while his partner Tahir escaped under cover of darkness; an FIR No. 194/2026 has been registered against the accused under Section 5/25 Arms Act.
The Superintendent of Police Sambhal Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said on Thursday that on the information of a special informer, the team of Asmoli police station exposed an illegal arms factory and arrested one accused while his accomplice managed to escape from the spot. From the spot, the police recovered two pistols of 315 bore, one pistol of 12 bore and 42 half-made pistols along with a large quantity of weapons making equipment.
He said that during interrogation, the accused told that he had set up this factory only 3 months ago. Around 30 pistols have been made and sold by him so far. The name of the person who set up the factory is Tahir who is a resident of Hirapur village of Asmoli police station area and these people used to run it at night.
