Ayodhya, June 2: According to a temple trust official, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited to the Ram Temple here for the consecration ceremony of the new idol of Lord Ram.

Ram Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai stated that the decision was made during a recent member meeting. Rai stated that the temple’s ground floor will be finished by October. It will be tested for two months before being opened to worshippers in December.

According to him, a letter will be addressed to the prime minister in which he will be requested to provide authorization for any auspicious day between December and January 26, 2024.

According to the official, the letter would be signed by the president of the Sri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. Following the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol, the temple will be formally opened for worship and devotion. The meeting in Ayodhya this week was attended by 11 members, with original member K Parasaran participating online.

However, Rai stated that no date has been set for the dedication of the idol in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. Swami Govind Dev Giri, the temple trust’s treasurer, is contacting astrologers about the dates. So far, he added, he has spoken with seven astrologers about a good date.
