Tragic road incident claims worker’s life in Lucknow
Lucknow, September 20: A laborer was killed on Saturday when a dumper belonging to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation hit him within the jurisdiction of the PGI police station, and police have launched an investigation into the incident, the police reported.
According to the PGI police, as usual, some laborers were waiting at the Telibagh intersection to work. During this time, a Lucknow Municipal Corporation dumper (UP 35 T 2143) hit one of the laborers, who died in the accident.
Upon receiving information about the accident, the police reached the spot, sent the body for post‑mortem, and noted that no identification documents were found on the deceased, though the name “Vimalesh” was tattooed on his right hand; a case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace the absconding dumper driver while further details about the victim’s identity are being gathered.
