Amit Shah inaugurates Fourth edition of UP International Trade Show

Noida, September 25: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the fourth edition of the five-day Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) on Friday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, Rakesh Sachan, and several ministers and officials were present on the occasion. For the first time, Austria, Japan, Russia, Singapore, Belarus, and Vietnam are participating as partner countries in this trade show.

Their participation will expand opportunities for trade partnerships, technical cooperation, sourcing, investment, and access to new markets for the state’s products. B2B meetings with international and domestic buyers and sectoral policy sessions will create new investment opportunities in the state.

UPITS, which will be held from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, is expected to attract over 2,400 exhibitors, over 1.5 lakh B2B buyers and visitors, over 4.5 lakh general visitors, and over 550 international buyers from 85 countries.

So far, registrations have been received from foreign buyers from 72 countries. FIEO’s Hosted Buyer Program is connecting actual buyers, importers, distributors, retailers, sourcing agents, procurement leaders, trade associations, and business enterprises. B2B matchmaking, networking, and business sessions will provide buyers and exhibitors with direct business interactions.

UPITS will showcase the diversity of Uttar Pradesh’s industrial, agricultural, handicraft, and service sectors. It will cover sectors such as agriculture and allied sectors, automobiles, EVs and auto components, aviation, defence, electronics and e-commerce, IT and smart-city solutions, films and entertainment, fisheries, animal husbandry and dairy, food processing and FMCG, horticulture, handloom, handicrafts and textiles, health, wellness, AYUSH, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing and real estate, leather, tourism and hospitality, sports, toys, renewable energy, power, mining, logistics and warehousing, retail, financial services, education and skills, packaging and printing, and water, sanitation and wastewater management.

The exhibition will also prominently showcase government schemes and policies related to MSME development, entrepreneurship and skill development, cluster development, digital transformation, international cooperation, procurement and marketing support, employment generation, and rural and urban development. Uttar Pradesh’s sectoral policies related to industrial investment, exports, textiles and garmenting will also be part of the event.

Uttar Pradesh’s cultural and culinary identity also features prominently at UPITS. This year, along with the “One District, One Product” initiative, “One District, One Cuisine” will be featured. This initiative showcases the traditional cooking methods, local delicacies, and food heritage of various districts across the state to the nation and the world.

The five-day event will feature a wide range of activities, including business engagements, knowledge sessions, cultural programs, live performances, awards, fashion shows, and laser shows. Knowledge programs will discuss artificial intelligence, electronics manufacturing, digital trade, food processing, MSMEs, global free trade agreements, and other emerging sectors. This will provide opportunities for knowledge exchange, dialogue, and collaboration for industry leaders.

Along with trade and investment, UPITS also provides a global platform for Uttar Pradesh’s culture, cuisine, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Here, efforts will be made to connect the state’s manufacturing capabilities, MSME ecosystem, ODOP and ODOC products, handicrafts, textiles, agriculture, food, tourism, innovation, and emerging industries with buyers, investors, and the business community from India and abroad.

UPITS 2026 builds on the success of the previous three editions. The 2025 edition, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attracted a total of 507,099 visitors, including 140,735 B2B visitors. 2,228 exhibitors participated in the exhibition area of over 35,000 square meters. The participation of over 550 foreign buyers from 85 countries through FIEO strengthened the international profile of the event.
