Lucknow encounter: ₹25,000 bounty criminal nabbed, shot in leg
Lucknow, September 29: In Lucknow’s Krishnanagar police station area, a surveillance team and local police arrested a criminal carrying a ₹25,000 bounty who was absconding in a woman’s murder case, during an encounter in which the accused was shot in the leg, and a pistol with cartridges along with other items were recovered from his possession.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South Mohammad Mushtaq Narayanpuri resident Rekha Singh, filed a complaint at the police station on September 15, stating that her daughter, Radha, had been murdered by hitting her with a brick. Three teams were formed to investigate the incident. The accused was being searched by thoroughly examining footage from approximately 150-170 CCTV cameras and electronic evidence from the crime scene and surrounding areas.
The DCP further told that during a checking operation on Monday night, when a police team attempted to stop a scooter rider, he ran away instead of stopping. When he reached near Duda Colony, Asaram Bapu Marg Vijayanagar, he lost his balance and fell. Seeing himself surrounded by the police, the accused started firing. In retaliation, the accused was shot in his right leg and was arrested. The accused has been identified as Bhola Rajput, a resident of village Nadauha in Unnao district. The arrested accused was wanted in a murder case and a reward of 25 thousand rupees was announced on him. He was admitted to Lok Bandhu Hospital for treatment. The police collected evidence from the scene along with the forensic team.
