Showers with lightning forecast Oct 6–9 across Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow/ Prayagraj, October 4: After the withdrawal of monsoon, Uttar Pradesh continues to witness changing weather, with the Meteorological Center forecasting generally dry conditions on October 4 and 5, showers accompanied by thunder and lightning across many parts of the state from October 6 to 9, and very light rain at isolated places on October 10.
In the current forecast, no comprehensive weather warning has been issued for eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. This is the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department.
Dr S.N. Sunil Pandey, a meteorologist at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), Kanpur, stated that after the monsoon’s withdrawal, atmospheric humidity and local weather conditions are likely to lead to cloud formation and thunderstorms at isolated locations.
He advised caution, especially during thunderstorms, between October 6 and 9. Avoid being in open spaces and avoid standing under trees or power poles in the event of lightning.
According to the Meteorological Department’s seven-day forecast, the weather is expected to remain dry in the state on October 4. Clear weather is also expected in most areas on October 5. Isolated rain or thundershowers are possible on October 6, 7, 8, and 9. Very light to light rain is expected at isolated locations on October 10th.
The weather warning indicates the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning at isolated locations on October 7 and 8. In such a situation, farmers and common people have been advised to keep an eye on the weather changes. The Meteorological Department has not yet issued any general warning for eastern and western Uttar Pradesh from October 4 to 10.
Dr Pandey said that in October, daytime temperatures will fluctuate, and a slight chill will be felt in the morning and nighttime. The impact of rain may vary locally, so it is best to keep an eye on the latest weather information.
