
Lucknow man kills daughter, lodges missing complaint online, police reveals murder-mystery
Lucknow, April 20: The Lucknow police revealed a shocking crime on Monday in which a father, with the help of his friend, strangled his daughter to death and then burned her face with acid to conceal her identity, arresting both the accused father and his accomplice for the heinous act.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Diksha Sharma, told reporters that Vijay Choubey, a resident of Imlibatham in Chinhat, had filed a missing person’s report on the IGRs on April 16. The next day, police arrived to investigate and recorded the family’s statements. Meanwhile, information was received that the body of an unidentified girl had been found in Barabanki district. After her murder, acid was poured on her face to conceal her identity. Police were investigating all angles. Following numerous ground inputs, they interrogated the applicant, Vijay Kumar Choubey, and conducted a thorough investigation.
The DCP informed that after collecting evidence, the police rigorously interrogated the complainant, Vijay Kumar Choubey, and he confessed to the crime. He admitted that the body found in Barabanki was that of his daughter. He was upset with his daughter’s behavior and therefore planned to murder her. On the day of the incident, he left home under the pretext of taking his daughter to Rajasthan for a ritual exorcism. On the way, he took his friend Mannan along with him to Barabanki. Finding a deserted road on a dark night, the two strangled his daughter to death. Later, they burned her face with acid to prevent her identification. To escape the crime, Choubey filed an online IGRs complaint about her disappearance.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, East, stated that the accused, along with his accomplice, had murdered his daughter. They first strangled her, then tightened her throat with a towel. When he was convinced his daughter was dead, he poured acid on her and burned her. Police arrested both accused and are now preparing to send them to jail.
